I have experience in hand-coding websites in CSS and HTML, as well as Drupal, Wordpress and other content management platforms. Beyond the design projects shown here, I have also managed and edited the websites for the International Center for Journalists, American Cowboy and the CU Independent.
Scripps Howard Foundation Wire
As a post-graduate multimedia intern, I was responsible for creating a new website for the SHFWire using the Drupal platform. Following the redesign, I now maintain the new website and update as needed.
Diary of a Predator
This project, headed by reporter Amy Herdy, goes into the mind of Colorado's most notorious rapist, Brent Brents. I built and maintained "Diary of a Predator" while offering editorial input. The project was published as a memoir in 2011.
While they are sleeping
White-Nose Syndrome is sweeping through American cave systems, killing off bats en masse and potentially affecting tourism and agriculture. This project was a team effort, completed as a requirement for a Dow Jones News Fund residency at Western Kentucky University.
Time Capsule
The Time Capsule project was built for Jim Sheeler's Civic Engagement class, which spent a semester collecting stories from the Frasier Meadows Assisted Living facility. Building this website was my final project for my Digital Newsroom course, taught by Rick Stevens.
